Indian equity benchmarks on Thursday extended their gains for the second consecutive session, led by gains in state-owned banks, metal, pharma and automobile stocks. The 30-share BSE pack surged 655 points or 0.90% to end at 73,651 and the broader NSE Nifty index moved 203 points or 0.92% up to close at 22,327. Stocks such as Indus Towers, Siemens, Kalyan Jewellers and Prestige Estates were among the top gainers on Nifty 200 during this holiday-truncated week. Domestic benchmarks were shut on Monday (March 25) due to Holi. And, the indices will remain closed today (March 29) on account of Good Friday. Trading will resume on Monday (April 1).
Indus Towers Ltd's stock was the top gainer this week in the Nifty 200 universe as the scrip soared 16.37% to Rs 291.15 on NSE. The stock has risen 19.01% in the last one month.
Siemens Ltd's stock surged 14.11% this week to Rs 5,374.05 on NSE, and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. In the last one month, the stock has climbed 17.2%.
Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd's stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 pack this week as it moved 13.1% higher to Rs 427.8 on NSE. The stock has gained 13.03% in the last one month.
Prestige Estates Projects Ltd's stock surged 12.87% to Rs 1,170 on NSE in the week ended on March 28, and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. Although, the stock has slipped 3.3% on a monthly basis.
BSE Ltd's stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe this week as it jumped 12.16% to Rs 2,515.9 on NSE. In the last one month, the stock has gained 7.64%. Shares of Torrent Pharma, Suzlon Energy, Sona BLW Precision Forgings, Supreme Industries and Zomato also picked up pace during the week on NSE 200.
LTIMindtree Ltd's stock slumped 4.29% this week to Rs 4,938.4 on NSE, and was the top loser in the Nifty 200 pack. The stock has tanked 8.72% in the last one month.
One97 Communications Ltd's (Paytm's parent) shares dived 4.19% to Rs 402.65 on NSE this week, making the stock one of the top losers in the Nifty 200 universe. In the last one month, the scrip has declined 5.82%. During the week, shares of Infosys, Coforge, HCLTechnologies, IDFC First Bank and Delhivery also saw sharp corrections on NSE 200.
